Basic Foldover
1) Lay the diaper so that the
lines are running East to West (the shorter edges should be on your left and
right)
2) Fold the diaper in half (with
both stitched edges touching)
3) Fold the diaper in half once
again. Now lay the diaper in the diaper cover and fasten.
Basic Angel Wing Fold
This fold gives excellent
absorbency and a trim fit. You can fold the front portion as much as needed
to protect the cord in the early days as well.
1) Fold the sides of the diaper
across the center.
2) Fold a small amount up in the
front.
3) Unfold the sides at the back
of the diaper to create wings.
4) Place diaper in the cover
then under the baby and bring it up over the front of the baby.
5) Fold angels wings to front.
6) Secure Velcro or Snap
Closures.
Angel Wing Fold #2
1) Open Cover.
2) Lay diaper on cover and fold
a small portion of the diaper up in the front.
3) Fold the sides of the diaper
across the center.
4) Unfold the back sides of the
diaper to form wings. Pull the diaper & cover up over the front of the baby
and secure the Velcro or Snaps on the cover.
Pictures of Diapers with
Doublers
Here are some pictures of ways
to use the doublers. Follow the same directions for the Angel Wing Folds,
simply insert a doubler. You can also simply place the doubler on top of the
diaper after you have folded it which is what you would want to do with the
Stay Dry Doublers so that baby's skin will feel dry.
1) Place doubler on diaper.
2) Fold diaper over doubler.
You can also fold your prefold
as desired and then just lay the diaper doubler on top of the folded diaper
so that it will be touching baby's skin and then put the diaper on your
baby.
Double Diaper Fold
You can also "double" your
diapers by using another prefold. This does make for a bulky fit.
1) Place 2 diapers flat.
2) Fold top diaper to center.
3) Fold bottom diaper in to the
center.
4) Fold small portion of front
up.
5) Place baby on diaper & cover
and bring diapers up over baby.
6) Fasten Velcro or Snap
closures.
Bikini Twist
1) Place diaper flat.
2) Twist diaper, turning one end
over. This may be easier to twist if you place the baby on the diaper before
you twist it.
3) Pull up over baby's front.
4) Fasten Velcro or Snap
fasteners.
